About Group Therapy
Group therapy is a safe confidential forum in which a small number of people meet weekly under the guidance of Deana.
Group is beneficial because it provides opportunities to learn with and from each other. You will better understand your own patterns of thought and behavior while uncovering self defeating behaviors that are problematic. You will be encouraged to experiment with a different process, so you can expand upon it inside and outside of group. Group addresses all feelings especially thoughts of hurt, depression, anxiety and isolation. In addition, it helps people make significant changes, so they may improve the quality of their lives.

What are the benefits of Group Therapy?
- Develop more intimate relationships
- Understand how to communicate more effectively with the opposite or same sex
- Increase your assertiveness
- Learn how to deal constructively with anger
- Strengthen self-esteem
- Accentuate your own power
- Become part of a loving community
- Helps you not feel alone
We live and interact with people every day and often there are things that other people are experiencing or grappling with that can be beneficial to share with others. (Group therapy is like a slice of life. What goes on in group is indicative of what goes on outside of group. For instance if you have difficulties being assertive, you can learn how to advocate for yourself.)
In group therapy, you learn that perhaps you’re not as different as you think or that you’re not alone. You’ll meet and interact with people, and the whole group learns to work on shared problems – one of the most beneficial aspects. The more you put into the group process, the more you get out of it.
